Oval Face
Description
This type of face shape looks good in most frame styles. We recommend that you try some of the latest frames styles; like a wrap around frame but make sure the frame size is proportion to your face.
Suggested Frames: Any frame shape
Oblong Face
Description
Oblong faces are long, narrow and similar to square faces in that the chin and cheek are of nearly the same width. However, the facial length is far greater than the width. You may widen and shorten the face with frame styles that do not go beyond the widest part of the face.
Suggested Frames: Round, Square
Diamond Face
Description
This face shape looks better with round or square frame styles. Frames with short horizontal and long vertical lines will also fit well. Adding decorative or contrasting temples will make the face look wider. Also, the frame should cover as much of the center of the face as possible to minimize the length.
Suggested Frames: Oval, Square, Rimless
Round Face
Description
To minimize the roundness of ones face, select a frame with straight or angular lines. Deep, dark colors will minimize the roundness. The frame should be equal or slightly wider than the broadest part of the face. To make the face appear longer and thinner, minimizes curves and add definition with soft, angular, rectangular styles or double brow styles. To create a longer profile, try frames with higher temples. Sunglasses with brow bars also pull the eye upward, making the face appear longer.
Suggested Frames: Wider frames with angular, rectangular styles
Square Face
Description
Compliment a square face with frames that are slightly curved. The top of the frames should sit high enough on the face to minimize your jaw line. This face shape has a big jaw line, a broad forehead and wide cheekbones. Soft curvy styles will reduce the angles of your face and give you more definition. We recommend classic ovals, cat eye shapes and rounded shapes.
Suggested Frames: Round, Cat Eyes
Triangle Face
Description
This shape is defined by a broad forehead and narrow mouth and chin. Frames with a thin rim and vertical lines will help balance the bottom part of the face. Frames should not sit too high on the face. Avoid large frames, heavy nose bridges, bold colors and square shapes. Styles such as Cat Eyes should angle outward at the top corner and be wide enough to balance the jaw line. We recommend metal rimless frames, frames with straight top lines and cat eye shapes.
Suggested Frames: Frames with a straight top line, Cat Eyes
Large Nose
Description
Large oversized frames are recommended for balance. Small frames would accent nose size.
Suggested Frames: Frames that are oversized
Long Nose
Description
Frames with high sidebars that draw attention upward toward the temples and away from the nose are a good choice. A double bridge helps a nose appear shorter.
Suggested Frames: Frames with high sidebars.
Small Nose
Description
A high bridge in a light color lengthens a short nose or a nose that is small in proportion to the rest of the face.
Suggested Frames: Frames with a high bridge.
Pale Complexions
Description
We recommend trying lightweight frames with a touch of color such as a rose or amber. Lighter tortoise shell frames look great on people with fair complexions but clear, blue or green tinged frames may drain color from cheeks.
Suggested Frames: Lightweight frames with a touch of color.
Dark Complexions
Description
Olive, Mediterranean, golden or Asian skin and dark hair look stunning in silver, gold, or clear frames. Avoid black, which can be too heavy for your complexion.
Suggested Frames: Silver, gold, or clear frame.
